چکیده
Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate Time-resolved MR venography (TR-MRV) of the pulmonary venous circulation using the time-resolved angiography with interleaved stochastic trajectories (TWIST) method of time-resolved MRA (TR-MRA) and compare it with the more commonly used conventional Contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA) approach in atrial fibrillation patients referred for pre-ablation pulmonary vein mapping.

Constrictive pericarditis after catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation.
A 70-year-old man with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation was referred for pulmonary vein isolation. Past medical history included ischemic heart disease and a right hemicolectomy for Duke’s C carcinoma 10 years previously. Presenting ECG showed sinus rhythm with a normal axis and evidence of left atrial enlargement (Figure 1). Preoperative echocardiography demonstrated normal left ventricular stru...
متن کاملCombined Catheter Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation and Watchman® Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion Procedures: A Single Centre Experience.
Background Patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) may be interested in undergoing concomitant interventions of left atrial catheter ablation and device occlusion of the left atrial appendage (LAA). We report on the feasibility and outcome of combined procedures in a single centre case series. Methods Twenty-six patients underwent either first time or redo pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) procedur...
متن کاملRole of Cardiac Imaging (CT/MR) Before and After RF Catheter Ablation in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation.
Pre-procedure X-ray computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) angiography are commonly used to delineate the complex and variable relationship of the left atrium, pulmonary veins, and surrounding structures. 3D CT and MR angiography are routinely incorporated into electroanatomic mapping systems to guide ablation lesion placement in the context of patient specific anatomy. P...
متن کاملA systematic review of the effectiveness of catheter ablation NavX mapping system for treatment of the cardiac arrhythmia
Background: Catheter ablation is widely used for treatment of atrial fibrillation. The use of fluoroscopic and non-fluoroscopic mapping systems in catheter ablation is common. This study conducted to investigate the safety and effectiveness of Navx non-fluoroscopic mapping system. Methods : In this study, the appropriate electronic databases including Cochrane Library and Ovid Medline searc...
متن کاملOptimal Transseptal Puncture Location for Robot-Assisted Left Atrial Catheter Ablation
BACKGROUND The preferred method of treatment for atrial fibrillation (AF) is by catheter ablation, in which a catheter is guided into the left atrium through a transseptal puncture. However, the transseptal puncture constrains the catheter, thereby limiting its manoeuvrability and increasing the difficulty in reaching various locations in the left atrium. In this paper, we address the problem o...
